Our Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE:
- That Jesus Christ is LORD and is GOD come in the flesh. (1 John 4:2)
- 1 John 4:2 ... Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
- 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh...
- The Bible is the infallible word of God
- That God promised to preserved His word for us and our choice in English is the King James Authorized Version but we also use Greek and Hebrew for study.
- That God has made His word available in many other languages other than English but believe these translations should be based on the 'textus receptus'.
- The whole Bible is profitable for study, preaching and observance from Genesis to Revelation.
- That as humans, we are fallible and must always "prove all things" from the word of God rather than blindly accept any teaching or preaching regardless from whom it comes.
- That doctrinal differences are common place but that these can be discussed in an orderly manner rather than resulting to arguments. We must be humble and be willing to accept that if we are shown to be in error from the Scriptures that we should study the matter to the fullest and seek the guidance of the Spirit to help us walk in the truth in all things.
- A local church is an organised called out assembly of Scripturally Baptized Believers in a certain locality.
- That each Local Church is governed by men who are Pastors and Deacons and no other board or hierarchy.
- There is only one God with three distinct parts, God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- That God created all things in 6 literal 24 hour days and rested on the 7th establishing the format of our week.
- That the creation was around 6000 years ago and that God ordered everything in the universe and that the earth is in the form of a globe which orbits the sun.
- From Adam, all people have descended and through different genetic combinations, different groups, shades, facial features, sizes etc have occurred.
- That Adam disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden and thus brought sin into the world.
- That all men have transgressed God's law and are in danger of eternal punishment in hell.
- That God sent His only begotten Son to earth to be the Saviour of men.
- That Jesus was born of a virgin, Mary, and is both the Son of God, and God the Son.
- That Jesus began an earthly ministry and founded the first New Testament Church whilst He was on earth before Pentecost.
- That Christ lived a sinless life and died a sinless death as a sin offering for all sin for all people on the day of the Passover.
- That Jesus was buried for 3 days during the feast of Unleavened bread.
- That Jesus rose again for our justification on the feast of Firstfruits.
- That Salvation is ONLY possible through faith in Christ.
- That Salvation is a FREE gift from God and a person only needs to Believe, Repent of their sin and Ask for forgiveness to receive it.
- That humans are made up of body, soul and spirit.
- The body is our temporary home for the soul and spirit
- The soul is made up of the mind, will and emotions and it is here that spiritual conflicts arise
- The spirit of a person is indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit at the point of salvation and can never be unsaved.
- That all men have the ability to call on the LORD Jesus Christ to be saved and that this call extends to whosoever will answer.
- That all people have the freewill to chose to trust in Jesus or reject Him when presented with the gospel message.
- That the law could not and cannot save but shows us our sin and in many ways shows us how to live a godly life.
- That if a person is unsaved they are under the law in trying to be perfect to enter heaven which is impossible but when someone is saved they are under grace which means their salvation is judged upon Christ.
- That man still has an obligation to keep the commandments of God as Jesus said "If ye love me, keep my commandments"
- That Jesus nailed the ordinances and dogma of man's tradition to the cross so that we could keep the commandments of God as they were intended and if we truly love God and love our neighbour, we will observe and obey what Christ expects of us and that we will be found as faithful servants when Christ returns
- That the first step of obedience to Christ is to follow His example in Scriptural Baptism by full immersion.
- That the fullness of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers according to the words of Christ.
- That there are TRUE gifts from God and FALSE gifts given as counterfeits by the devil and that we must have discernment as to which is which
- That we can call on the name of Jesus in any language.
- That a person can say Jesus, Jesu, Yesu, Yehoshua or Iesous and it still be the same Name above all names!
- That Jesus will return for His faithful Bride and this event will be the next thing on the prophetic calendar before the tribulation which will be the fulfilment of the feast of Trumpets
- That Jesus will, after the tribulation, return to earth to rule for 1000 years fulfilling the prophecy of the feast of Yom Kippur.
- That there will be a new heaven and a new earth where God's people will dwell with Him for eternity fulfilling the feast of Tabernacles.
- In the Observance of the Church Ordinances of believers baptism and the LORD's Supper until the Rapture.
- That being from Ana-Baptist lineage, we were never part of the Roman church and thus we do not observe any festivals or rituals that have come in to Christianity from Paganism through the Roman Church such as Mass, Lent, Easter, Halloween, Christmas, infant baptism or any other sacramental rite.
- That music/singing is an integral part of our worship to the LORD and that our praises should glorify the name of Jesus and should be distinctly separate from worldly music
- In the Complete Fulfilment of the Great Commission do to as Christ taught His disciples to do!
